Directions to Wind Point
Park

Wind Point is easily accessible via a paved two-lane highway, however GPS tends to send our customers down windy single lane unmaintaned county roads.  If your GPS sends you down a county road (mainly CR 3401 or CR 3408), please request an alternate route or just follow the directions below.  

FROM I-30 (East or West)

Take Exit 94 off of I-30 and head South on US 69 for 13.3 miles, AVOID TURNING ON CR 3401.  Instead, follow US 69 for another mile into the town of Lone Oak and turn right on FM 513. Continue straight through the 4-way stop onto FM 1571 and follow FM 1571 for 3 miles then turn left to continue on FM 1571 for the last 2 miles.  FM 1571 turns into Park Road 55 and you will dead end into the park.   

From I-20 West (Louisiana)

Take I-20W to exit 556 US 69. Follow US 69 into Lone Oak and turn left on FM 513. Continue straight through the 4-way stop onto FM 1571 and follow FM 1571 for 3 miles then turn left to continue on FM 1571 for the last 2 miles.  FM 1571 turns into Park Road 55 and you will dead end into the park.    

From I-20 East

Follow signs to Shreveport and take exit 501 toward TX-34 Terrell/Kaufman. Continue on TX-34 N about 18 miles into Quinlan. Turn right on TX-276 (Lake Tawakoni) and go 9.7 miles, crossing the 2-mile bridge. After crossing the bridge, make a left onto FM 513 and head north for 6.2 miles.  At the 4-way stop, make a left onto FM 1571 and follow FM 1571 for 3 miles then turn left to continue on FM 1571 for the last 2 miles.  FM 1571 turns into Park Road 55 and you will dead end into the park.   


Reservation/Cancellation Policy

Reservation Deposit - The total amount of the reservation is due at the time of making the reservation. 

Full Refund - A reservation canceled 14 days or more from the first night of the reservation may receive a full refund of the reservation deposit.  The reservation deposit will be credited back to the credit card on file for the reservation.

Customer Account Credit - Any reservation canceled between 6 and 13 days before the first night of the reservation may have the reservation deposit transferred to the customer's account at the park.  The credit is available to be used for a period of one year.

Deposit Forfeit - Any reservation canceled 5 days or less before the first night of the reservation will be charged for one night of the reservation, with the balance being transferred to their customer account at the park.  The credit is available to be used for a period of one year.

No-Show - Any reservation that does not arrive for their scheduled reservation without notifying the park in advance will forfeit the entire reservation deposit.

**Exceptions will not be made for inclement weather. 

Holiday Cancellation Policy (Memorial Day, 4th of July, Labor Day & Thanksgiving)

Full Refund - A holiday reservation canceled 14 days or more from the first night of the reservation may receive a full refund of the reservation deposit.  The reservation deposit will be credited back to the credit card on file for the reservation.

Deposit Forfeit - A holiday reservation canceled within 14 days from the first night of the reservation will forfeit the entire reservation deposit.

**Exceptions will not be made for inclement weather.

Rec Hall/Pavilion Cancellation Policy

Reservation Deposit - The minimum deposit for the Hall and Pavilions is $100.00.  The total amount of the reservation must be paid in full 30 days before the date of the event.

Full Refund - A reservation canceled 30 days or more from the date of the reservation may receive a full refund.

Deposit Forfeit - A reservation canceled less than 30 days before the date of the reservation may forfeit the entire reservation deposit.

**Exceptions will not be made for inclement weather.

 


 Campground Rules

Arrivals/Departures - Site Check In - 3:00pm, Check Out - 11:00am - Guests can stay in the park until 8pm.

Quiet Hours - Quiet hours are from 10pm to 7am.  Loud music is not allowed at anytime and all guests must be respectful of their neighbors in regard to noise, talking, music, etc.

Registering in the Park
 - Every vehicle must register before entering the Park. All guests staying overnight will have a gate code issued to enter the Park.  This code is not to be distributed to anyone give this code to anyone.  All vehicles must display the Park Car Tag while in the Park.

Day Use - Gate codes are not given for Day Use. If you have to leave the Park for any reason, re-entry can only be given by an office employee opening the gate.

Swimming Area - Food, drinks, and glass containers are not allowed in the swimming area. Swim at your own risk. Children must be accompanied by an adult as NO LIFEGUARD IS ON DUTY!

Speed Limit CHILDREN AND DEER are some of our favorite campers, which gives them the “RIGHT OF WAY”.  Please honor the 20 mph Park speed limit.  All vehicles (including golf carts, UTV’s) are required to be operated by a licensed driver.

Equipment/Vehicles - Golf Carts/UTVs (gas and electric) are allowed in the park with a steering wheel and a licensed driver.  ATVs, go-carts, mini/dirt bikes are not allowed in the park along with generators or chain saws.

Age Restrictions - Persons under 18 years of age are not allowed for overnight camping unless accompanied by a parent.  All children must be supervised by an adult (someone 18 years of age or older).

Campfires - The Park allows campfires, firewood is sold in the store however you can bring your own wood with you.  Dead fall around the park can be gathered yet , no sawing of dead fall or cutting down trees is allowed. During Burn Bans and High Wind Warnings, campfires will be restricted. All campfires must be EXTINGUISHED and STIRRED before leaving the Park.  Someone must be in attendance of the campfire at all times.

Firearms - Firearms and weapons are not allowed in the park.  Firearms used for duck hunting are allowed on a case by case basis.  

Fireworks - We do allow fireworks to be popped around the 4th of July and only in designated park areas.  Contact office for exact times and locations.

Pets - ALL LEASHES MUST BE ACCOMPANIED BY A DOG.  Please pick up doggie do!!   No aggressive animals permitted in the Park.

Proper Clothing - Nudity, G-strings, thongs or indecent clothing are NOT allowed.

Trash - Trash cans have been strategically placed around the park, as well as dumpsters. These are NOT for decoration.  You are responsible for picking up your own trash. Help us keep the park as clean and beautiful as you found it.

Washing of Vehicles - Vehicles may NOT be washed in the Park.

Waste Water -  Waste water (gray or black) may NOT be emptied on the ground. All RV sites have sewer hook-ups and the park also has a dump station. 

Tent Camping - Tent Camping is allowed in designated areas only (see our park map).  Tent camping is not allowed at the cabins or RV Sites.  All tents must have a tent tag from the office.
