Wind Point Park on Lake Tawakoni has Cabins, Enclosed or Screened Shelters, and Tent Camping. Golf carts are also available to rent when making any kind of reservation, making it easy to get around the 180-acre campground.
Wind Point Park has 8 full-service, temperature controlled cabins arranged in a horseshoe configuration, perfect for group gatherings and family reunions! The cabins are one-bedroom suites, sleeping up to 6 people, with two full beds in the bedroom and a trundle bed in the living area. All of the cabins have been newly remodeled, and one (the "Premium Cabin") has had a complete gutting and remodel. Tents are not permitted in the cabin area.
Every cabin has A/C & heat, Satellite TV, bed linens, bath towels, full bathroom w/shower, kitchen table, dishware/cookware, refrigerator (full-size), microwave, oven/stove, coffee maker (and coffee, sugar and cream), recliner, picnic table, fire pit, charcoal grill, patio rocking chairs, and firepit chairs.
The Premium Cabin also has new flooring, wainscoting, a full size oven/stove, dishwasher, more counter-top space, extra recliner chair. and upgraded smoker style charcoal grill, steel fire ring and a jar of local honey to take home with you.
Wind Point Park has 8 enclosed shelters. Each one is a large open room (approx 200 sq ft) that sleeps up to five people. The enclosed shelter is insulated and equipped with A/C & heat. They each have counter space, electric, water, picnic table, charcoal grill, and great views of the water.
Wind Point offers 7 other screened-in shelters. They are each a large open-room that sleeps up to five people. The shelters are equipped with water, electric, counter space, and each one has a picnic table and a charcoal grill.
(Not all screened shelters will have a table inside)
As of April 2018, Wind Point has 12 new tent sites with electric that can be reserved in advance. 5 are waterfront and 7 are waterview in this heavily shaded area by the water. Great for groups and beating the Texas summer heat!
Primitive tent camping continues to be available on a first come, first serve basis. All spots are along the shoreline, with easy access to the water. There are picnic tables, fire pits, and community water hookups. Tent camping is allowed in designated areas or at the shelters. Tents are not allowed on the RV sites or in the cabin area.
